Argentina tries to restructure $83bn debt

It's an interesting time for Argentina indeed.
Yet, single-side negotiations do not exist. Debt holders won't blindly accept these terms.

Does Argentina even have anything left that the Southern District of New York's courts could issue seizure orders on?

This will hit Argentina very hard. No longer having access to debt markets means ultimately Argentina will have no way to help save it's businesses during this liquidity crunch. GDP contraction will likely be huge.

Argentina, is in no position to dictate terms as they are trying to do.

A lot of these bonds have moved into stronger hands at much lower prices on the open markets.

I believe there will be a hard default if both sides can't compromise. Odds of that? 90% that Argentina goes down in flames.

There is going to be a lot of misery for most of the people in this country. And I think it will last for 10 to 15 years ... basically a generation is going to be affected.

The silver lining is there is a wave of dollar debt defaults coming across the globe so Argentina will have lots of company.
